ASPHALTIC
ASPHALT ROOFING SYSTEMS
TWO SYSTEMS FOR FLAT ROOFS
Proven strength in redundancy for industrial roof applications

Built Up Roof Systems
Built Up Roofing Systems, or BUR for short, are roofing systems comprised of multiple ply fiberglass sheets adhered in hot asphalt adhesive. BUR systems have a long history of durability. The redundancy of the field plies makes the system strong and weather resistant.
Although expensive to install, these are considered quality options for new construction and when originally designed as a built-up roofing assembly, re-roofing applications.
Built Up roofing systems are also available with a hybrid application utilizing TPO, EPDM, PVC, and Modified Bitumen membranes as surfacing.
Applications
- New Construction
- Re-Roofing
Attachment Process
- Hot Asphalt

Modified Roof Systems
Modified Bitumen, or Mod Bit roofing systems, are derived from modified asphalt. These systems are either SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) which is a rubber modifier designed for elongation and recovery properties or APP (Atactic Polypropylene) with a plastic modifier to provide a tougher weather resistant blend.
Although expensive, hybrid systems utilizing modified bitumen with membrane as inner plies with single plies such as TPO, EPDM, and PVC fleece-backs as surfacing are also options. These systems are applied in multiple layers or multi-ply assemblies.
Applications
- New Construction
- Selective Existing Assembly
- Restorative Recover
- Re-Roof
Attachment Process
- Cold Process Adhesive
- Hot Asphalt Adhesive
- Torch Applied
- Self-Adhered Technology
